Coarse calcium grit is a supplementary product for medium and large birds. This product gives birds the possibility to correct the calcium deficiency inherent in seed mixtures and the increased calcium demand that occurs during periods of expansion or growth. Birds are perfectly capable of regulating the intake of calcium-rich foods according to their needs; therefore, the product is presented in a thick form that prevents excessive involuntary ingestion from occurring. Calcium grit can be provided free of charge in a separate feeder or mixed with the rest of the diet components (1 to 2% of the seed mixture and/or food calculated on the dry weight of the diet provided). The availability of calcium grit allows birds to absorb the amount of calcium they need at any time.
